Using the Edit Client user/group search filter resets list of assigned users/groups

When using the Users and Groups filter in the Edit Client dialog, selecting a user or groups resets the list of assigned users.
This article describes the behaviour in more detail, and suggests a workaround.
1. Issue
When assigning users and groups in the Edit Client dialog, you are able to search for users/groups to add, using a text box. In this example, the client has two user groups assigned:

2. Workaround
The workaround is to use the search for the first person or group you need to add, then add others by scrolling through the list.
You can check that the edit has been successful by viewing the Client Details screen, avoiding the Edit screen.
